Few shapes from the 1930s carry the drama of the Talbot-Lago T150-C-SS Teardrop. Built on the short-chassis competition version of Tony Lago's 4-litre six, it was clothed by Figoni et Falaschi in the goutte d'eau (drop of water) body seen here, every line drawn to a single tapering rear point. The covered wheels, the wraparound aero windows and that long sweeping tail were genuine aerodynamics dressed as art deco sculpture, and only a handful were ever bodied this way. This was the fast, beautiful machine of the pre-war elite, equally at home on the Champs-Élysées and at the start line of the Mille Miglia.
The two-tone treatment reads exactly as it should: a deep royal blue over the cabin and tail, the silver flowing along the lower flanks and into the teardrop wheel spats, broken only by chromed wire wheels and the twin-grille nose. Minichamps captures it at 1:18 on a cobblestone presentation base, faithful down to the louvred bonnet and split rear window.
