This policy explains what personal information The Automotive House ("we", "us") collects when you visit this website, buy from us, make an enquiry or book a viewing, how we use it, and the choices you have. The store runs on Shopify, which hosts the website and processes some information on our behalf.

We never see, store, sell, share, rent or lease your card details. Card payments go straight to our payment provider, which handles them securely.

Information we collect

  • Contact details: your name, billing and delivery address, phone number and email address.
  • Payment details: the form of payment and the transaction. Card numbers go straight to our payment provider and never reach us.
  • Account details, if you create an account: your name, email address, saved addresses and preferences. Sign-in uses a one-time code sent to your email.
  • Orders and pieces: the pieces you view, save, add to your selection, buy, return or cancel, and your past orders.
  • What you tell us: the content of your enquiries, emails, calls and viewing requests.
  • Device and usage information: your device, browser, IP address and how you use the website, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

Where it comes from

  • From you, when you place an order, create an account, make an enquiry, sign up for news or contact us.
  • Automatically, from your device when you use the website, through cookies and similar technologies.
  • From our service providers, such as Shopify, our payment provider and our couriers, when they process information for us.

How we use it

  • To sell and deliver your pieces: to process payments, fulfil and deliver orders, arrange viewings and collections, handle returns and keep your account.
  • To answer you: to reply to enquiries and provide customer service.
  • To tell you about new pieces, only if you have agreed to receive our emails. You can stop them at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email.
  • To keep the store safe: to prevent fraud, verify payments and protect the website.
  • To meet our legal duties: for accounting, tax and VAT records, and when the law or a lawful request requires it.

Who we share it with

  • Shopify, which hosts the store, and the providers who work for us: payment processing, couriers, email and IT services. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.
  • Advertising and analytics services, where you have agreed to cookies that allow this.
  • Authorities, courts or advisers, when the law requires it or to protect our rights.
  • A buyer of our business, if the business is ever sold.

We do not sell your personal information.

Shopify

Shopify processes information about your use of the store to provide and improve its services, and may use information from your interactions with our store and with other Shopify merchants for some features. For those features Shopify is responsible for the processing. We use cookies that the website needs to work, such as those that keep your selection and your saved pieces. Analytics and advertising cookies are used only if you agree to them, and you can change your choice at any time.

Our service providers may store and process your information outside the United Arab Emirates. Where information is transferred out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, recognised safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses are used.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as we need it to provide our services, keep your account and meet our legal, tax and accounting duties, and then delete it.

Security

We protect your information with reasonable technical and organisational measures. No system is completely secure, so please do not send card numbers or other sensitive information to us by email.

Depending on where you live, you may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to receive a copy of it or to stop us using it for marketing. Children

The website is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
