Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended Wheelbase Series II, Grey & Gold Brushstroke

Rolls-Royce describes the eighth-generation Phantom as a blank canvas for Bespoke work, and says it draws the most ambitious commissions the company takes on. Two one-offs show the range. The Phantom Oribe of 2021 was painted in Oribe Green and cream for Yusaku Maezawa to match a private aircraft he had commissioned, its interior made with Hermès. The Phantom Syntopia, designed with the fashion designer Iris van Herpen, wears a paint called Liquid Black created for that car alone. With the Series II of May 2022, Rolls-Royce also began offering a darkened grille surround, black bonnet reins and dark window frames, and marked the launch with a Bespoke Phantom called Platino.

This model is metallic grey, crossed along the flanks by dark brushstroke marks, with gold picking out the coachline, the window frames, the door handles, the sills and the vanes of the grille. The Spirit of Ecstasy is gold as well. The wheels are discs in pale blue with a crackled texture, framed by gold rims. Inside, the seats are black leather and the fascia panel carries a gold and brown artwork. It sits on a black velvet base with white stitching, and the etched plaque reads Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended Wheelbase II, Jim&Bill and Henson&Heaven, one of 20. H&H builds it at 1:18.
