Porsche 919 Street Weissach Package, Weissach Package

The 919 Street is the road-going dream that Porsche allowed itself after the 919 Hybrid had finished rewriting the Le Mans record books. Sketched in Weissach as a one-off design study, it wrapped the dimensions and downforce thinking of the all-conquering LMP1 car in a cabin you could climb into without a fire suit, twin seats set deep beneath that long glasshouse, the rear deck stretching back into a full-width wing and exposed diffuser. It was never built to be sold, which is exactly its appeal: a pure expression of what the 919 might have been had it driven straight off the Mulsanne Straight and onto the road.

The Weissach Package livery is the giveaway here, the works red nose dissolving into a hazard-striped flank of white, silver and black, "01" on the door and Porsche Intelligent Performance scripted across the rear wing. Spark captures the concept's strangeness honestly, the smoked canopy, yellow brake calipers behind dark centre-lock wheels, the cooling slats above the engine bay.
