Porsche and Martini signed a new partnership agreement in 2012, and by that August the 918 Spyder test cars were lapping in Martini Racing colours, a design Porsche made available only on the 918. The stripes had history behind them. Martini had been the works team's official partner from 1973 to 1978, years that brought a Targa Florio win in 1973, the Sports Car World Championship in 1976 and overall victory at Le Mans in 1976 and 1977, and a 917 had already won Le Mans with Martini support in 1971. On the 918 they returned on a plug-in hybrid built in a run of 918 cars between 2013 and 2015.
This model wears the white version. Light blue, dark blue and red stripes run over the bonnet and sweep along the flanks to the rear wings, with a Martini roundel and the number 1 on each door. The cabin is red from the seats to the dashboard, with carbon trim. Acid green calipers show through the silver wheels, and the rear carries a Florida number plate in an Autobahn Fort Worth dealer frame. The roof panels can be fitted or left off, as the photographs show. The etched plaque on the white leather base lists the car's figures and reads Limited, one of 12. It is built at 1:18.
