There is no faster way to start an argument among Porsche people than to ask whether the Singer "reimagined" 911 is a 911 at all. Built on the air-cooled 964 chassis and then taken apart down to the last fastener, it is restored, rebodied in carbon, and reassembled to a standard the factory never attempted, with the upright headlamps and slim bumpers of the original 911 wrapped around a far more capable car beneath. This is the Targa, the rarest of the silhouettes Singer offers: that brushed roll-over hoop and removable panel, flared arches filled by classic Fuchs-style wheels, and the ducktail set above twin tailpipes. It is a car commissioned rather than bought, each one built to its owner's brief, and it reads as quietly as a tailored coat until a closer look shows that every detail has been reconsidered.
The metallic copper-gold catches the light differently across the bonnet, doors and rear quarters, warm where the panels turn and deep in the shadows, set off by the dark anthracite wheels and the polished brightwork around the glass. Make Up reproduces it in 1:18 on a presentation base, down to the etched Porsche script on the engine grille and the texture of the Targa hoop.
