Porsche 911 Singer DLS, Black

Rob Dickinson founded Singer Vehicle Design in Los Angeles in 2009, and the company made its name rebuilding 964-generation 911s; by early 2019 it had completed more than 100 of them. The Dynamics and Lightweighting Study, shown in 2018, took that idea further than anything before it, with Williams Advanced Engineering behind its 500 bhp, 4.0-litre engine and its 990 kg kerb weight. It also pointed the way to what came next. In June 2023 Singer revealed the DLS Turbo, limited to 99 cars, with a twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre flat-six making more than 700 hp.

This model is in gloss black, with no stripe or script along the sides, so the gold does the work. The five-spoke centre-lock wheels have gold spokes and a gold rim edge against black, the fuel cap on the bonnet is gold, and so are the PORSCHE lettering and the Singer script on the tail, above the DLS plate and twin tailpipes. Inside, black shell seats with chequered inserts sit against a carbon dashboard and door trim, with a gold roll cage behind them. The carbon-weave base carries a plaque reading D&C, with the Singer script and Limited Edition, one of 20. It is built at 1:18, in a run of 20 for each colour.
