Every Classic Study starts with a Porsche 911 of the 964 generation, built from 1989 to 1994. It was the first 911 with power steering and ABS as standard, it launched as the four-wheel-drive Carrera 4, and it was reckoned about 85 per cent new compared with the Carrera 3.2 before it. Singer keeps that more modern platform but rebuilds the body in carbon fibre to the leaner shape of the 911s of the late 1960s and early 1970s, with round headlamps standing proud of the wings, slim bumpers and a ducktail over the engine. This commission is a quiet one: dark green metallic paint, brown leather and silver wheels.
The paint shows its metallic flake clearly, turning from green to teal in the light. A darker stripe along each sill carries the PORSCHE script, repeated across the tail in pale grey. The five-spoke wheels are silver with darkened centres and red calipers behind. Inside, the seats and door panels are brown leather beneath a black dashboard, with a drilled three-spoke wheel and perforated aluminium footwell plates. The engine lid opens on six mesh-capped intake trumpets and the ribbed fan housing. It stands on a black base with yellow-green stitching over a green plinth, and the brushed plaque carries the Singer Vehicle Design script and the edition, one of 30. IVY builds it at 1:12.
