Beneath its reshaped body, a Singer is still an air-cooled Porsche. The Classic Study keeps the flat-six layout of the 964 it is built from, while the engines have been reworked by specialists including Cosworth, Ed Pink Racing Engines and Williams; some cars carry a 4.0-litre unit built by Ed Pink and rated at up to 390 horsepower. Around it, the car is rebuilt with carbon-fibre panels to the proportions of the early long-bonnet 911, with round headlamps standing proud of the wings and a ducktail over the engine. This commission keeps things simple: gloss black paint, orange script and orange wheel centres, with nothing added to the bonnet.
The black is deep and glossy, broken only by PORSCHE in orange along each flank and across the tail, and by orange five-spoke centres inside bright rims, with red calipers behind. The cabin follows the same scheme, with orange seats, door panels and trim beneath a black dashboard, a drilled three-spoke wheel, perforated aluminium footwell plates and a small Singer script on the passenger side of the dash. The engine lid opens to show the flat-six, its six mesh-capped intake trumpets standing over the ribbed fan housing against an orange bulkhead. The base is carbon-patterned, and its brushed plaque carries the Singer Vehicle Design script and the edition, one of 10. IVY builds it at 1:12.
