On the Gunther Werks 400R almost all of the body is carbon fibre. Every panel except the doors is made of it, including the roof, the engine lid and a widened rear wing, and the bodywork is vacuum bagged and baked in an autoclave at more than 250°C for stiffness. Arch extensions of 30 mm give the 993 shape a broader stance over 18-inch forged three-piece wheels. Beneath it sits a 4.0-litre air-cooled flat-six built by Rothsport, and Gunther Werks, of Huntington Beach, California, limited the series to 25 cars.
This one is white with twin black stripes over the bonnet and roof, set off by bronze five-spoke wheels. A slate grey stripe runs along each sill with PORSCHE picked out in white, and the name is spelt out again across the engine lid. The front has a carbon splitter, and the back has the full-width light bar, a Gunther Werks plate and twin central tailpipes. The cabin is finished in tan on the dashboard, the tunnel and the floor, with black seat centres piped in cream inside carbon-shelled buckets and a tan pull on each carbon door card. The carbon pattern base carries a plaque naming Timothy & Pierre and the Gunther Werks 400R, marked as a limited edition. Timothy & Pierre builds it at 1:18.
