Gunther Werks was founded by Peter Nam in Southern California, and its 400R is built on the shell of a Porsche 911 of the 993 generation, the last of the air-cooled 911s. The bumpers, wings, roof, engine lid and rear wing are carbon fibre, and arch extensions add 30 mm a side. The 3.6-litre flat-six makes way for a 4.0-litre air-cooled engine of more than 400 hp and 447 Nm that revs to 7,800 rpm. The 400R was shown at The Quail in Monterey in August 2017, and production began the following year after nearly ten months of testing and tuning, with 25 cars planned.

This model is finished in a bright gloss red, with PORSCHE in white script low on the doors and a black GUNTHER WERKS plate set into the rear bumper. The rear wing, the vent in the front lid and the twin central tailpipes are all reproduced, and the five-spoke wheels are gunmetal with the Porsche crest at the centre. The cabin is red and black: a red dashboard top and door cards, red seats in carbon shells, and a carbon dashboard with its row of dials. The car sits on a black base faced in carbon weave, with a plaque that reads Timothy & Pierre, Gunther Werks 400R and Limited Edition, one of 20. Timothy & Pierre builds it at 1:18, in an edition of 20.
