Gunther Werks built 25 examples of the 400R, its carbon-bodied reworking of the 993 generation 911, and left much of each car to its owner, who chose the materials and colours. Underneath, every one shares the same core: a 4.0-litre air-cooled flat-six from Rothsport with more than 400 hp and a 7,800 rpm redline, a Getrag G50 six-speed manual gearbox, KW Clubsport coilovers, and carbon fibre for every panel except the doors. The company, based in Huntington Beach, California, made the car public in August 2017.
This model dresses the white car in a race-style livery. Rainbow stripes in green, yellow, orange, red, purple and blue sweep along the flanks and up across the bonnet, with apple computer inc. lettered low on each door and the rainbow Apple logo on the rear wings. The number 89 sits in white panels on the bonnet and doors, among sponsor decals that include H&R, Accuair, Toyo Tires, XS Mag and Messer. Gold five-spoke wheels complete the look, and the rear carries the full-width light bar, a Gunther Werks plate and twin central tailpipes. Behind the glass is a black cabin with carbon-shelled bucket seats and a red marker on the steering wheel. The carbon pattern base carries a plaque naming Timothy & Pierre and the Gunther Werks 400R. Timothy & Pierre builds it at 1:18.
