The 964-generation Carrera RS 3.8 was the hardest, most uncompromising road 911 Porsche built in the early 1990s, a homologation special born to qualify the 3.8 RSR for GT racing. Under that flared body sits a 3.8-litre flat-six of roughly 300bhp, fed by the deep front spoiler and cooled with a single-minded focus that left out sound deadening, rear seats and most comfort. The fixed biplane wing, the staggered 18-inch Speedline three-piece wheels filling the swollen arches, and the plain blue PORSCHE script along the sills are the giveaways: this was a car sold to be driven hard, made in tiny numbers for owners who understood what they were buying.
Spark captures it in Polar Silver Metallic, the cool grey-silver throwing the cobalt side graphics and the upright tail wing into sharp relief, with the three-piece wheels and slatted engine lid rendered crisply. A purposeful thing, faithfully shrunk. Spark presents it at 1:18 on a black display base.
