904-042 was completed in March 1964 in silver metallic with blue upholstery and sold new through Riviera Motors in Portland, Oregon. It spent its racing life in the Pacific Northwest: Gary Wright and Mike Eyerly campaigned it in 1964, a racing update in 1965 brought megaphone exhausts, and from July 1965 it was raced by Wade Carter, who became Oregon and Northwest SCCA Production champion in 1966. The red-over-silver paint and the #42 date from a later restoration by Jeffrey Keiner, who bought the car in the early 1980s, and it was in this form that Gooding & Company sold it at Pebble Beach in August 2017 for $1,540,000. CMC named its model after that sale.
The model wears the auction-day livery: red upper body over silver sills and nose valance, white #42 on the doors, and a pair of megaphone tailpipes beneath the rear panel. The front lid opens on the fuel tank and spare wheel, the tail section swings back over the four-cam flat-four, and the doors open onto blue cloth seats and a wood-rimmed wheel. Silver steel wheels and treaded racing tyres complete the stance. A limited edition of 1,000. CMC builds it at 1:18.
