Under the NILU27's long, low body is a carbon fibre monocoque with lightweight aluminium alloy tubular subframes, and Aria Group in Irvine, California, was named to build the prototypes and the customer cars. The engine is a 6.5 litre V12 developed with Hartley Engines of New Zealand, designed to rev with a quickness its makers compare to an electric motor, and it makes around 1,000 hp without turbochargers or superchargers, driven through a seven-speed manual. The exhaust pipes are 3D printed in Inconel, a heat-resistant metal. The cabin is just as deliberate: the steering wheel carries no buttons or switches, and the controls that remain are machined from solid metal and answer with haptic feedback.
This MotorHelix model is red all over, with a white roundel carrying a red 27 on the nose and on both doors, black five-spoke wheels and red brake calipers. The open rear deck shows the V12 with its pale pipework and red coilover springs, a gold-toned panel runs beneath the rear wing, and the three exhaust outlets are grouped high in the centre above the carbon diffuser. It stands on a black leather base edged in red, and the plaque, with the MH mark and the nilu name, reads Limited Edition, one of 49. MotorHelix builds it at 1:18.
