McLaren 720S LB Performance, Gulf

McLaren unveiled the 720S at the Geneva show in March 2017, and its name gives the output away: 720 PS from a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, carried in a carbon fibre MonoCage II tub. Much of the cooling is hidden in plain sight. The deep sockets around the headlamps conceal vents that feed two small radiators ahead of the front wheels, and channels in the doors lead air back to the engine. Liberty Walk, the Nagoya tuner Wataru Kato founded in 1993, later drew a widebody kit for the car: front canards and diffuser, widened door panels, flared wings front and rear, side and rear diffusers and a high-mounted rear wing, each part offered in fibreglass or carbon fibre.

This model wears that kit in Gulf's light blue and orange over a black lower body and roof. Rohana is lettered along the doors and across the top of the windscreen, Toyo Tires runs across the front bumper, and Gulf roundels sit on the bonnet and front wings. White multi-spoke wheels frame orange calipers, and the tall wing stands over a finned diffuser edged in orange. It sits on a white leather base stitched in red, under a mirrored LB Performance plaque that reads Limited, one of 15. Davis & Giovanni builds it at 1:18.
