The Grecale is named after the Gregale, a Mediterranean wind. The petrol and hybrid cars came first, and the electric Folgore followed a year later with its world premiere at the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show, designed, developed and built in Italy. It carries a 105 kWh battery on 400 V, and two motors give 558 PS and 820 Nm, with a WLTP range of 500 km. The launch colour, Rame Folgore, is exclusive to the electric cars. Maserati based it on the facade of the Guggenheim in Bilbao, where copper tones in the sun meet bluish grey in the shade, and used iridescent pigments to get there.
BBR gives the Rame paint a satin finish that reads copper in the light and pewter in shadow. Gloss black trim frames the grille, windows and lower body, and the Folgore script with three vents sits on each front wing. The black and silver aero wheels show red brake callipers, and the Grecale name is on a plate across the tailgate. It stands on a pale grey leather base with the Grecale script. BBR builds it at 1:18.
