Land Rover Defender 110, Matt Grey

The second-generation Defender gave up the old car's body-on-frame construction. It is built on Jaguar Land Rover's D7x platform with an aluminium unibody, and it shares no components with the model that ended production in 2016. The off-road hardware stayed: permanent four-wheel drive, a two-speed transfer case, locking centre and rear differentials and a ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox. The 110 is the five-door body, longer than the three-door 90, and its engines ran from a 3.0-litre mild-hybrid petrol P400 of 395 bhp to a P400e plug-in hybrid and the supercharged 5.0-litre V8 of the P525, rated at 518 hp.

This 110 is finished in matt grey with a black roof and black rear pillars, and satin silver skid plates front and rear. The five-spoke wheels are gloss black with red brake calipers, on chunky all-terrain tyres, and the full-size spare hangs on the tailgate between the tall lamps. Side steps run beneath the doors, and the Land Rover oval appears on the grille, the rear panel and the mud flaps. The car stands on a mirrored base framed in black, with a LAND ROVER DEFENDER plaque. It is built at 1:18.
