Lamborghini Veneno Roadster, Grigio Metalluro

Built to mark Lamborghini's 50th anniversary, the Veneno Roadster took the brand's appetite for extremity past the point of restraint. Only nine were made, each one a road-legal interpretation of a racing car that never raced, with bodywork shaped almost entirely by airflow: the knife-edged nose, the channelled flanks, the cathedral of vents and fins across the open rear deck. There is no fixed roof at all here, just a low cockpit and a windscreen, leaving the naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 to dominate everything behind it. It was never meant to be sensible; it was meant to be the loudest possible statement of what Sant'Agata could do when no one asked it to hold back.

The grey here is Grigio Metalluro, a cool industrial silver that throws the car's facets into sharp relief and lets the Italian tricolore stripe and the red rim and diffuser accents do the talking. The exposed carbon rear, the louvres and the spider-web wheels are all picked out cleanly, and the whole thing sits on a black presentation base. H&H captures it at 1:18 with the roadster's open architecture fully resolved.
