Few 4x4s carry their decade as proudly as the Grand Wagoneer. By 1989 it was already an anachronism: a body-on-frame wagon whose silhouette had barely changed since the 1960s, hauling a thirsty V8 and dressed in the simulated woodgrain that became its signature. That contradiction is exactly why it endured: while everyone else chased aerodynamics, Jeep kept building a chrome-grilled, leather-lined estate that sat as comfortably outside a ski lodge as a Hamptons drive. It was the original luxury SUV, bought by people who valued presence over progress, and the full-width chrome bumpers, knock-off-style alloys and that unmistakable timber flank tell the whole story at a glance.
Highway 61 captures the woodgrain panelling and its gold pinstripe surround in fine detail, set against a deep metallic red with brightwork picked out from grille to tailgate. The cabin, roof rack and rear "Grand Wagoneer" script all read true to the 1989 car. Highway 61 presents it at 1:18 on a fitted display base.
