The Carrera GT was Porsche's V10 supercar of the mid 2000s, and Gemballa, the tuner now based in Leonberg, turned 25 of them into the Mirage GT, introduced in 2007. Most of the work was in carbon fibre: a new front bumper with three large intakes, a vented bonnet with a scoop on the roof above it, recessed door sections, new sills, and a reshaped rear bumper under a larger wing with an electrically adjustable centre flap. The 5.7-litre V10 gained a ram air intake, new engine software and a free-flowing stainless steel exhaust. Where the Carrera GT had two tailpipes, the Mirage GT has four, set in the places once taken by the reverse and fog lamps, which moved down beneath the diffuser.
This one is finished in solid yellow, with the roof scoop, the slatted carbon vents and the black mesh of the three front intakes all set against it. Matte black five-spoke wheels carry red centre-lock nuts over yellow calipers, carbon strips run along the sills beneath the mirage GT script, and at the back the four tailpipes sit in pairs either side of a mesh panel below the Gemballa lettering. A yellow-trimmed steering wheel shows through the glass. The white leather base, stitched in red, carries a plaque reading Gemballa Mirage GT, Limited Edition, from a run of 39. IVY builds it at 1:18.
