Ferrari Monza SP1, Nero Daytona

The Monza SP1 opened Ferrari's Icona series in 2018: limited cars that take their cue from the company's past, here the 750 Monza and the 166 MM barchetta. The SP1 is the single-seater, and the SP2 its two-seat sister. There is no windscreen at all. Instead a patented Virtual Windshield is shaped to turn the airflow away from the driver. The body is carbon fibre, with a large clamshell bonnet, and under it is the 6.5-litre V12 of the 812 Superfast, tuned to 810 PS at 8,500 rpm with 719 Nm. Ferrari quotes 0 to 200 km/h in 7.9 seconds and more than 300 km/h flat out, for a car of 1,500 kg. It was drawn by Ferrari's Styling Centre under Flavio Manzoni, and in 2020 the SP1 won a Compasso d'Oro design award.

This one is in Nero Daytona, a deep gloss black, with a red band across the bonnet and a red fairing behind the driver's seat. The silver five-spoke wheels have the yellow Ferrari shields at their centres, and the tail carries a MONZA SP1 plate between two pairs of tailpipes set in carbon. A small black and red helmet sits on the pale base beside the car, next to a plaque with the MONZA SP1 name. It is built at 1:18.
