The 599XX was never built to race. Ferrari made it for the XX programme, a track-only research and development scheme run with private clients, and at the end of 2011 it announced the Evolution package for the 2012 and 2013 seasons. The V12 rose to 750 CV and the car lost 35 kg, but the centrepiece was aerodynamic: a rear wing with two flaps shaped like those of a Formula 1 car, moved electronically under a concept Ferrari called opening gap, to shift downforce between the axles according to speed, steering angle and acceleration. A modified splitter, a larger diffuser and redesigned fences completed the package, for 330 kg of downforce at 200 km/h with the flaps open and 440 kg with them closed.
This model is finished in metallic red with white: a broad stripe over the bonnet and white lower sills, the number 59 on each door, the name Peter C. on the rear side windows and a Danish flag on the wing endplate. The twin-element wing stands high above the tail, and dark multi-spoke wheels wear Pirelli P Zero tyres with yellow lettering. It sits on a white leather base stitched in red, under a mirrored plaque that lists the car's figures and marks it as a limited edition. It is built at 1:18.
