Ferrari 488 Pista Spider, Silver

Ferrari showed the 488 Pista at the Geneva Motor Show on 6 March 2018 and the Pista Spider at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance later that year. Both drew on the 488 GTE and 488 Challenge race cars: the 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 uses camshafts, pistons and exhaust manifolds from the Challenge car and makes 720 PS and 770 Nm. The Pista weighed 91 kg less than the 488 GTB, largely through a carbon bonnet, bumpers and rear spoiler, made 20 per cent more downforce and used ducts in the front bumper to feed air out through a vent in the bonnet. Ferrari claimed 0 to 100 km/h in 2.85 seconds and 340 km/h, and the Spider shares those figures with the coupe.

This Spider is in Aluminium Opaco, a matte silver, with a black racing stripe edged in yellow running from the nose over the bonnet vent and on across the rear deck. The roof is down, showing black seats with yellow prancing horses on the headrests, and the wheels are dark twin-spoke designs. The rear carries the 488 Pista Spider badge, round tail lamps, a carbon diffuser and twin exhausts. It sits on a beige leather base with black stitching. MR Collection builds it in resin at 1:18.
