Ferrari unveiled the 458 Italia at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show as the successor to the F430. Its 4.5-litre V8 made 570 PS at a 9,000 rpm redline, it was the first mid-engined Ferrari road car with direct injection, and it came only with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Novitec Rosso, the Ferrari side of the Bavarian tuner Novitec, gave its 458 programme a world debut at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. Output went up to 609 hp, and an Inconel exhaust with three 90mm tailpipes weighed 21kg less than the standard system. Sport springs lowered the car by about 35mm, and the carbon body kit, developed in the wind tunnel of the University of Stuttgart, added a front spoiler, a rear spoiler, a diffuser and a carbon roof and engine cover, on 21-inch front and 22-inch rear wheels.
MG Model Plus paints it in Rosso with a dark carbon-look roof and black five-spoke wheels with red rims. A small spoiler rises above the round tail lamps, the Novitec Rosso plate fills the rear number-plate recess, and the three tailpipes sit in a black diffuser. The car stands on a white base trimmed in red. MG Model Plus builds it at 1:18.
