Ferrari took the covers off the 296 GT3 in the paddock at the Spa 24 Hours in July 2022, as the car that would replace the 488 GT3 from the 2023 season. It kept the road car's V6 layout, with the turbochargers sitting inside a 120 degree vee, but the racing rules removed the hybrid unit of the 296 GTB, so the engine works alone, making around 447 kW at 7,250 rpm through a six-speed sequential gearbox developed for this car. Its first race was the Daytona 24 Hours in January 2023, and in May that year a 296 GT3 won the Nürburgring 24 Hours outright.

VMB shows it in a bright solid red. The bodywork turns to matt black over the rear quarters and tail, with a fan of red stripes breaking up the join, 296GT3 lettered on the rear flanks and a fine tricolore line low on the sills. Ferrari runs across the top of the windscreen and the prancing horse shield sits on each front wing. Through the glass are the roll cage and race seat; outside are the vented bonnet and wings, the mesh-covered intakes, the carbon splitter, the swan-neck rear wing, the roof antennas and black centre-lock wheels on Pirelli P Zero tyres with yellow lettering. It stands on a carbon-pattern base whose plaque gives the edition as 30 pieces. VMB builds it at 1:18.
