David Piper took delivery of chassis 3767GT in the summer of 1962, a right-hand-drive GTO painted in his BP green, and raced it at Brands Hatch and in the Goodwood Tourist Trophy that August. In September he and Dan Margulies drove it in the Tour de France Automobile, run from 15 to 23 September 1962, and finished fourth overall. Piper then took the car south: in November he won the Kyalami 9 Hours in South Africa with it, and in December the Angolan Grand Prix at Luanda. Early in 1963 it was sold to Ed Cantrell in California and repainted blue, though Piper still shared it with him at Sebring and the Nürburgring that spring.

The model shows the car as it ran the Tour: BP green with yellow #153 roundels, the event's plates on the nose and tail, a pair of auxiliary driving lamps set into the nose, the prancing horse in the grille and the Modena plate MO 79460. The bonnet opens to the V12 and its six twin-choke Webers, the doors have sliding windows and the boot holds a spare wire wheel. Inside, on the right, are black seats, harnesses and a wood-rimmed wheel, and the Borrani wire wheels have removable centre-lock nuts. CMC builds it at 1:18 as a hand-assembled metal precision model, in a limited edition of 2,200.
