Chassis 3647GT was completed in June 1962 for Colonel Ronnie Hoare's Bowmaker team and raced through that summer by John Surtees, who took third places at Mallory Park and Snetterton before crashing out of the Tourist Trophy at Goodwood in August. Rebuilt, it passed in September to Prince Zourab Tchkotoua, and on 21 October 1962 it ran in the 1000 km of Paris at Montlhéry, entered by Maranello Concessionaires for Surtees and Mike Parkes. They finished second overall and second in class, a single lap behind the Rodriguez brothers' NART GTO after more than six hours of racing. Tchkotoua raced the car himself the following year, sharing it with Tommy Hitchcock at the Targa Florio and the Nürburgring.
The model shows the car as it ran at Montlhéry: red, with #11 roundels, Scuderia Ferrari shields on the front wings and the plate MO 77434 on the tail. Quick-release catches and a leather strap hold the bonnet, which lifts to the V12 and its six twin-choke Webers; the doors have sliding windows and the boot opens to a spare wheel. The right-hand-drive cockpit has harnesses, a wood-rimmed wheel and a full dashboard, and the Borrani wire wheels carry removable centre-lock nuts. CMC builds it at 1:18 as a hand-assembled metal precision model, in a limited edition of 2,000.
