Bugatti Divo with W16 Engine, White & Light Blue

Walk round to the back of a Divo and the differences from the Chiron multiply. The tail lamps are made up of 44 illuminated fins, produced by 3D printing and integrated into the rear grille; beneath them a new diffuser makes room for four exhaust outlets, and above them a rear wing 1.83 metres across doubles as an air brake. It is the sort of detail Bugatti lavished on a car it built only forty times, presented as a revival of the coachbuilding tradition that once had customers commissioning bodies from Gangloff and Weymann. Named after Albert Divo, twice winner of the Targa Florio for the marque, it was the Chiron re-engineered for corners.

This example is finished in white, with bright light blue on the splitter, sills, roof spine and diffuser and around the wheel rims, dark exposed carbon on the lower body and the tricolore on the sill. From behind, the red-slatted tail lamps and the Divo script read sharply against the white. On the same carbon-weave base, a separate model of the W16 stands on two silver pegs, complete with gearbox, turbochargers, charge pipes and heat-shielded exhaust manifolds. This is the engine the car itself carries out of sight under its rear deck. A nameplate with the Bugatti macaron, the Divo script and Ettore Bugatti's signature sits at the front of the base.
