Bugatti left the engine alone when it made the Divo. The 8.0-litre W16, with its four turbochargers and 1,500 PS, came from the Chiron as it was; what changed was everything around it. The car lost 35 kg, gained 90 kg of downforce through a reshaped front spoiler, a reworked air curtain, a NACA roof duct and a rear wing 23 per cent wider than the Chiron's, and was set up with harder springs and revised camber to corner at up to 1.6 g. Top speed was limited to 380 km/h. Forty were made, each at €5 million net, under the name of Albert Divo, the Bugatti works driver who won the Targa Florio twice.
This example is finished in a matte yellow that holds the light evenly across the bonnet and doors, set against black: exposed carbon on the lower body, a black stripe over the bonnet and roof, and black wheels. From behind, the yellow returns around the diffuser beneath the slatted tail lamps. Beside the car on its carbon-weave base stands the engine itself, modelled separately with its gearbox and mounted on two silver pegs, every turbocharger housing, charge pipe and heat-shielded manifold visible. This is the unchanged heart of the car. A nameplate with the macaron, the Divo script and Ettore Bugatti's signature completes the base. Built at 1:18.
