Bentley revealed the convertible version of the third-generation Continental GT in November 2018, a year after the coupé had appeared at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Both sit on the Volkswagen Group MSB platform shared with the second-generation Porsche Panamera, and the body side is made by superforming, a first for a production car. The GTC's fabric roof folds in a Z pattern and stows in 19 seconds at up to 30 mph. It was three decibels quieter than the previous convertible's, putting it on a par with the old coupé, and one of the seven outer colours offered was tweed. At launch it used the 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 with an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox; a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 of 550 PS was also offered.
Diamond Black here is a deep gloss with a faint sparkle where the light catches it. Against it the chrome stands out: the matrix grille, the lower mesh, the window line and the strip along the sill are all bright. The roof is folded away, so the black seats with white contrast stitching are on show. Dark multi-spoke wheels frame red calipers, and the rear carries the oval tail lamps and twin oval tailpipes. It stands on a black suede base with a black plaque. H&H builds it at 1:18.
