The first RS 6, built on the C5 A6 from mid-2002 to September 2004, was the fourth model from quattro GmbH and the first Audi RS model exported to North America. The C8 generation was the first RS 6 sold there since. It uses a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 of 600 PS and 800 Nm, a 48-volt belt starter-generator that can recover up to 12 kW, and a cylinder-on-demand system that shuts down half the cylinders to save fuel. Audi quoted 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and up to 305 km/h with the Dynamic Plus package, and in November 2022 announced a performance version with 630 PS and 850 Nm.
This one wears a widebody conversion in gloss red with black detailing. The bonnet carries a black panel with a window onto the red-covered V8 and chrome scoops either side, with another scoop on the roof. The front bumper is reworked with large intakes and a tubular bar across the splitter, the arches are flared over black multi-spoke wheels with polished rims, and at the rear a black diffuser with the four rings and red inserts sits below the 2NCS plate and a large roof spoiler. The car stands on a carbon-weave base. It is built at 1:18.
