Of the four Vanquish Zagato body styles Aston Martin and Carrozzeria Zagato built between 2016 and 2018, the Shooting Brake is the rarest and the most quietly radical: just 99 examples, each marrying the marque's 600bhp naturally aspirated V12 to a long, double-bubble roofline that runs uninterrupted to a tapering bustle tail. The side profile here tells the story: a body almost entirely free of hard lines, the rear haunch swelling into a tail that recalls the DB6 estates of the 1960s while the exposed carbon roof and the signature Zagato roundel sail panel keep it firmly contemporary. It was never meant to be practical; it was a coachbuilt statement of how much beauty could be wrapped around a front-engined GT, built for collectors who already had the coupe and wanted the one nobody else would.

The casting captures the difficult parts well: the unbroken shoulder line, the bronze-tinted multi-spoke wheels, and the bared carbon-weave roof against the metallic grey body, with the circular Zagato tail lamps picked out in their distinctive red detailing. Finished in a cool metallic grey over a black carbon roof and presented on a suede-topped plinth. H&H builds it at 1:18, a faithful study of one of Zagato's last great shooting brakes.
