On 4 September 2013 the Porsche GT driver Marc Lieb lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife in a 918 Spyder in 6 minutes 57 seconds. No street-legal production car had gone under seven minutes before; the previous best had been about 7:11. His car carried the Weissach Package, an option that cost $84,000 in the United States. It brought magnesium wheels by BBS, an extended rear diffuser, Alcantara in place of leather inside, and exposed carbon fibre for the windscreen frame, the roof, the rear wings and the mirrors. Underneath was the same hybrid as every 918: a 4.6-litre V8 behind the seats, two electric motors and all-wheel drive.
This one is finished in Racing Green Metallic, a deep green with a coarse metallic flake. The mirror shells and rear wing are bare carbon, as are the panels behind the rear wheels and the diffuser, and the multi-spoke wheels are dark grey with red centre-lock nuts over lime-green calipers. An e-hybrid script sits on each front wing, and two exhaust outlets rise through the carbon engine deck behind the seats. The car stands on a pale suede base with a card plaque. Make Up builds it at 1:18.
