The 993 was the last air-cooled 911, and the Turbo S was its most uncompromising send-off, a 1997 swansong built in tiny numbers for the customers Porsche knew best. The intent is plain in the details: the extra brake-cooling scoops carved into the leading edge of the rear wing, the hollow-spoke Speedline wheels behind yellow calipers, the wider haunches stretched over four-wheel drive and twin turbochargers. It paired a sledgehammer of an engine with a chassis that demanded respect, and the cabin's red leather against the deep blue says this was a car ordered, not bought from stock. For the people who learned the 911 before water-cooling arrived, the 993 Turbo S is the one.
The model catches the squat, purposeful stance in a flawless metallic blue lacquer, the panel gaps tight and the rear "Turbo S" script crisp under clearcoat. The red interior and detailed engine intakes carry through the look of a special-order original. It is built at 1:18 and sits on a carbon-finish display base.
