A Singer begins with an owner rather than a showroom. Founded in Los Angeles in 2009 by Rob Dickinson, the company restores and reworks Porsche 911s for its clients, and it describes the DLS as a vision pursued together with them: the most advanced air-cooled 911 in the world, drawing on knowledge from Formula 1. The result, introduced in 2018 and developed with Williams Advanced Engineering, has a body made entirely of carbon fibre with widened wings, a retuned chassis and suspension, and a flat-six built in partnership with Hans Mezger. When Singer added a turbocharged DLS in 2023, the process was the same: an owner sends in a 964 and it is rebuilt as a personal commission.
This piece is a deep metallic purple with no stripe over the top, only lilac sill stripes carrying the PORSCHE script and matching lilac lettering across the tail. Gold five-spoke wheels with polished rims stand out against the paint. Inside, seen through the glass, the bucket seats, door cards and dashboard band are white against black, with a carbon centre tunnel. The engine lid opens on the carbon intake with its Williams Advanced Engineering plate and the cooling fan in a carbon housing. The car stands on black leather with purple stitching and a purple edge, and the plaque reads Limited Edition, one of 40. IVY builds it in resin at 1:12.
