The Dynamics and Lightweighting Study began with one customer's 964 and the engineering arm of the Williams Formula One group. Williams Advanced Engineering reworked the engine, chassis and body, while Hans Mezger, the long-serving Porsche engine designer, advised on the engine. The result is an air-cooled 4.0-litre flat-six with four valves per cylinder that revs to 9,000 rpm and is quoted at 500 bhp, drawing its air through openings in the rear side windows and breathing out through a compact titanium exhaust. The car was revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2018, and Singer planned 75 more.
This one is finished in ice blue metallic, with a white band across the nose and white PORSCHE lettering between twin stripes along the sills and on the tail. The carbon splitter, sills and diffuser are left exposed, the widened arches hold grey five-spoke centre-lock wheels with polished rims, and the fixed ducktail carries the Singer script, with twin exhaust tips at the corners of the diffuser. The engine lid lifts on a carbon-patterned engine shroud bearing the Williams badge. Inside, tan bucket seats and tan door cards with carbon inserts meet a black dashboard and a carbon centre tunnel. It stands on a light wooden base, and the plaque carries the Singer Vehicle Design signature, the DLS name and the edition, one of 40. IVY builds it in resin at 1:12.
