Porsche 911 Singer DLS, Cream

Lightweighting is half of the DLS name, and Singer meant it. The body is carbon fibre throughout, magnesium and titanium replace heavier parts, and the finished car weighs 990 kg. The arches were widened over a wider track, taking their cue from the 934 RSR, and Norbert Singer, the Porsche race engineer the company is named after, advised on the aerodynamics: a lower front bumper with large oil cooler openings and an exposed carbon splitter, a flat floor, a carbon diffuser and a fixed ducktail. It rolls on 18-inch forged magnesium centre-lock wheels made by BBS, with carbon ceramic brakes behind them.

This one is painted a soft cream, with a white band across the nose and white PORSCHE lettering between twin stripes along the sills and on the tail. Bronze five-spoke centre-lock wheels fill the widened arches, the carbon splitter, sills and diffuser are left bare, and the ducktail carries the Singer script, with twin exhaust tips at the corners of the diffuser. The engine lid lifts on a carbon-patterned engine shroud bearing the Williams badge. The cabin is all black, with bucket seats, carbon door panels and a carbon centre tunnel. It stands on a carbon-patterned base, and the plaque carries the Singer Vehicle Design signature, the DLS name and the edition, one of 40. IVY builds it in resin at 1:12.
