The 911 R was the lightweight competition version of the early 911, and Porsche built only 20 of them, all in 1967. The doors were thin aluminium and the door handles plastic, and the finished car weighed 810 kg. Its flat-six was a racing engine with Weber carburettors and twin ignition, rated at 210 PS.
This model is finished in white with a red roof and two broad red stripes over the bonnet, in a BP World Record livery. BP shields sit on the bonnet, the doors and the engine lid, with World Record lettering between the door shields and below the rear one, and Porsche is lettered along the sills. Firestone decals appear on the nose and the tail, the corners of the headlamps are taped, and the five-spoke Fuchs-pattern wheels wear Firestone tyres. The bumpers are slim, without overriders. It is shown on a black gloss plinth, raised on posts, and built at 1:18.
