The RS badge on a 911 goes back to the Carrera RS 2.7, shown at the Paris Motor Show on 5 October 1972. It was the first series production car in the world with front and rear spoilers, and the shape of its rear spoiler gave it the nickname ducktail. Porsche planned only 500 cars, the number needed for homologation, and the demand took the company by surprise. Fifty years on, in August 2022, the 992 GT3 RS carried the same letters with a 525 PS flat-six, a radiator moved into the nose and a rear wing whose upper edge stands above the roof.
This one is white, with red GT3 RS script along the doors and smaller red script on the tail. The wheels are gold, and the bonnet has a carbon centre section between its vents. Black side blades, the louvred front wings, the splitter and the diffuser with twin centre exhausts are all shown. A white roof box, marked Porsche and Thule, sits on a rack over the roof and the swan-neck wing, and the car stands on a white base with red stitching. IVY builds it at 1:18.
