Porsche 911 GT3 RS, Rothmans #94

Few sponsors are tied to Porsche as closely as Rothmans. Its blue, white, red and gold colours ran on the works cars through much of the 1980s, on the 956 and 962 that won Le Mans in 1982, 1983, 1986 and 1987 and on the 959 that won the Paris to Dakar rally in 1986, and they have been revived on tribute cars ever since. The scheme suits the 992 GT3 RS, a road car built around racing ideas. Its nose holds one central radiator in the manner of the 911 RSR, the front lid breathes through large louvres, and the rear wing rises above the roofline on swan-neck mounts, its upper element flattening for the straights. The 4.0-litre flat six, rated at 518 hp at 8,500 rpm, drives through a seven-speed PDK gearbox.

Here the colours are laid over a gloss blue body, with white across the bonnet, roof and upper flanks divided from the blue by red and gold pinstripes. Rothmans Porsche runs along each door beside the number 94 on a white panel, among series and sponsor decals including TAG Heuer, BOSS, Oakley and Alpinestars, with Mobil 1 on the rear bumper. The wheels are gold multi-spoke over red calipers, the wing is finished in body colour, and the rear plate reads RSRGT3. The specification plaque on its white leather base, stitched in red, names the 911 GT3 RS (992) and gives the edition as one of 8. It is built at 1:18.
