Porsche 911 GT3 RS (992) Sculpture, Copper and Grey

Porsche unveiled the 992 generation 911 GT3 RS in August 2022 and shaped it around downforce. A large, angled radiator fills the nose, where other 911s carry their luggage, and vents through big nostrils in the front lid, while louvres in the front wings let air out of the wheel arches. The swan-neck rear wing has a fixed main plane and a hydraulically adjusted upper element, and for the first time on a Porsche production car its upper edge stands above the roof. Porsche quotes 860 kg of downforce at 285 km/h, and the naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat six makes 525 PS.

Here the car becomes a sculpture. It sits low in a white base, the ground cracked around it as if the car had dropped into it. On the right side and the nose the surface breaks away in plates to bare white. Over the bonnet, roof and tail runs a grey wash with black spots and broad brushstrokes, and the left side is covered in copper, laid in thin sheets that crack at the edges and run off the sills in long drips across the base. The wheels, the vents and the wing, lettered PORSCHE, are black. Cut into the base are the Porsche crest, the GT3 RS script and Special Edition, one of 100.
