Porsche unveiled the 992 generation 911 GT3 in February 2021 with more of its racing cars in it than any GT3 before. The double wishbone front suspension and the swan-neck rear wing both come from the 911 RSR. The 4.0-litre flat six is based on the drivetrain of the 911 GT3 R endurance car and is used practically unchanged in the 911 GT3 Cup. It makes 510 PS and revs to 9,000 rpm, and buyers could still choose a six-speed manual gearbox alongside the PDK. It is a quieter-looking car than the RS that followed, with a lower wing and a cleaner body.
The colours here are the ones Gulf Oil made famous on the Porsche 917 in 1970 and 1971: a pale blue body with a single orange stripe running from the front bumper over the bonnet and on across the rear deck. The roof is carbon, the wheels are black multi-spoke with red calipers behind them, and orange GT3 lettering appears on the wing endplates, matched by a small orange badge on the engine lid. Twin central tailpipes sit in the black diffuser. The specification plaque on its white leather base, stitched in red, names the 911 GT3 (992) and gives the edition as one of 36. It is built at 1:18.
