On a dry, darkening track in October 2018, Porsche development driver Lars Kern took a 911 GT2 RS fitted with Manthey Racing parts round the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 6:40.33, about seven seconds quicker than the standard car had managed. Nothing had been done to the engine. The 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six kept its 700 hp, and the time came from a chassis, suspension and aerodynamic package tuned for that one circuit. Manthey, based right beside the Nordschleife and majority owned by Porsche, later offered the parts to GT2 RS owners, and the cars that carry them are known as the GT2 RS MR.
This model is finished in a pale blue metallic that reads silver in strong light, with a carbon bonnet split by a body-colour centre stripe and a carbon roof. The front wheels are silver multi-spokes over yellow calipers, while the rears sit behind closed aero discs, the clearest sign of the Manthey kit, along with the tall wing and its yellow Manthey endplates. Chequered graphics and GT2 RS MR script run along the lower doors. Through the windscreen the seats are light grey with yellow belts and a roll cage behind. The plaque on the white leather base even quotes the 6:40.33 lap, and marks the car as one of 12. It is built at 1:18.
