The Dynamics and Lightweighting Study began when one Singer customer asked for more performance and less weight from his 1990 Porsche 964. Singer took the brief to Williams Advanced Engineering, the technology division of the Williams Formula 1 team, and the project was announced in 2017. Williams developed an all-new engine for it, a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six, with input from the Porsche engine designer Hans Mezger. Racing driver Marino Franchitti and journalist Chris Harris worked with Williams as consultants and development drivers. Singer planned 75 cars, to be built at a new factory on the Williams campus in the UK, at about $1.8 million each.
This one is gloss black, with a grey stripe along the sills carrying PORSCHE in orange. The Fuchs-style wheels are painted orange inside polished rims and held by gold centre-lock nuts, and a carbon strip runs under each sill. The cabin is red. At the back a raised ducktail with Singer script sits above a DLS plate, a tailpipe at each corner and a black diffuser. The car stands on a pale suede-finish base with a card plaque. Make Up builds it at 1:18.
