The 964 was built as a coupé, a cabriolet and a Targa, and it was the last 911 generation sold with the traditional removable Targa roof until the 991. Porsche built 3,534 Carrera 2 Targas and 1,329 Carrera 4 Targas. Singer Vehicle Design, founded in Los Angeles by Rob Dickinson in 2009, builds its Classic Study as either a coupé or a Targa, both on the 964. Its engines have been reworked with Cosworth, Ed Pink Racing Engines and Williams, and they rev to a 7,200 rpm redline with the limiter at 7,300.
Make Up shows the Targa with its roof panel removed. The body is a slate grey, the brushed silver hoop carries twin vents and targa script, and red runs through the car: the seats, the Fuchs-style wheel centres inside polished rims and the PORSCHE script along the grey sill band. Round headlamps in chrome bezels and a filler cap in the front lid lead the car; at the back are a polished engine grille, pale gold PORSCHE lettering and twin tailpipes. It stands on a black textile base with a red edge and an angled black plaque. Make Up builds it at 1:18.
