The Singer name honours the Porsche engineer Norbert Singer and also nods to Rob Dickinson's earlier career as a vocalist. Dickinson founded the company in Los Angeles in 2009 to restore and modify the 911, and for nine years it built a single model: a reimagined 964 coupé or targa, later called the Classic Study. Its tachometer is often coloured Singer Orange and marked up to 11, a nod to the amplifier that goes up to 11 in the film This Is Spinal Tap, though the engine's redline is 7,200 rpm. Prices start above US$475,000, and examples have sold at auction for well over US$1 million.
Make Up finishes this coupé in Gulf Blue with a broad orange stripe, split down the middle by a thin white line, running from the nose over the roof to the tail. The fuel filler cap sits in the stripe on the bonnet, the cabin is trimmed in tan, and the five-spoke wheels have polished rims. At the back are the louvred engine grille, the PORSCHE lettering and twin central tailpipes. The car stands on a dark grey fabric base with a stitched edge and a mirrored plaque bearing the red Make Up logo. Make Up builds it at 1:18.
