Stirling Moss ordered 904-025 in November 1963, within weeks of the car's unveiling in Stuttgart, and it was delivered in February 1964 to his team, the Stirling Moss Automobile Racing Team, S.M.A.R.T. for short. Its best-known day came at Silverstone on 2 May 1964, in the 25-lap Grand Touring race at the BRDC International Trophy meeting. The race began in rain and fell to Graham Hill's Ferrari 250 GTO, but Innes Ireland brought the green Porsche home ninth overall and first in its class, a result Motor Sport recorded among the day's class wins.
CMC paints it in Borneo green metallic, a soft grey-green that changes with the light, with white #26 roundels on the doors and front lid, a black #26 on the tail and steel wheels finished in dark green. The front lid opens on the fuel tank and the spare wheel, held down by its leather strap; the tail section swings back to reveal the four-cam flat-four and its wiring. The doors open onto blue cloth seats, a wood-rimmed wheel and a full dashboard. A limited edition of 1,000. CMC builds it at 1:18.
