Pagani Zonda Unica, Blue & Black

The Zonda Unica is a one-off roadster that took its look from the Zonda Tricolore. The Tricolore was built in 2010 on the Cinque's specification to mark the 50th anniversary of the Frecce Tricolori, Italy's aerobatic team. It was left unpainted apart from a clear blue lacquer, with red, white and green stripes from the nose, gold wheels and a small fin behind the cockpit that echoed the tail of the team's Aermacchi MB-339; first planned as a single car, it ran to three. The Unica carries that scheme over to an open Zonda: exposed blue carbon, the bare carbon V on the nose outlined in tricolore stripes and, unlike the Tricolore, a manual gearbox.

The model is finished in deep blue carbon with the weave showing through the lacquer. The centre of the bonnet is a pale silver V edged by fine tricolore lines, the same colours appear on the rear wing end plates, and an orange pinstripe runs along the sills. The wheels are gold multi-spoke. A windscreen frame and twin roll hoops sit over a cream cabin, and the carbon tail carries the round four-pipe exhaust and the Zonda Unica script.
