Pagani Zonda F, Blue Carbon

Pagani's own record of the Zonda F notes a first: it was the first car to offer, at a client's request, bodywork in natural-surface carbon fibre, the weave left on show instead of being painted over. The structure beneath is carbon too, a central carbon fibre chassis with chrome-molybdenum frames front and rear, and Pagani used titanium, aluminium and Inconel to keep the weight down. The engine is a Mercedes-AMG V12 of 7,291 cc. Inside, the steering wheel is a Nardi in wood, finished by hand, and Pagani says the dashboard took its cue from the old master clockmakers.

This piece takes that idea at its word. The bonnet, wings and doors are in a blue-tinted carbon weave over darker carbon on the sills and lower body. Gold ESSER lettering runs along each sill, the Pagani oval badge with its side lamp sits on each front wing, and blue calipers show behind the polished wheels. The cabin is blue and white: white seat bolsters around blue quilted centres, blue door panels and dashboard, and a wood-rimmed wheel with blue grips. The V12 can be seen through the clear engine cover. It stands on an orange base with an ostrich grain, and the carbon plaque reads ivy Supreme, Pagani Zonda F, Limited Edition, one of 10.
